The name Gravel 46th Street is dedicated to the first bottle of Gravel ever sold. It was sold in New York in 1957 on 46th Street in one of Manhattan's most exclusive boutiques. The founder of Gravel, Michael Knudsen, was on his way to take the first bottles ever produced to a radio station, hoping to advertise there. On the way there, he spontaneously offered his perfume for sale. The rest is history. This luxurious perfume is an intense, long-lasting fragrance experience. It is characterised by beguiling dark, woody notes that immediately captivate everyone through incense, amber and musk.
Gravel New York 1957 is only available in selected boutiques.

Michael B. Knudsen, is the creator of GRAVEL New York in 1957. He faced many challenges in order to realize his dream of his own perfume.

He started his first creation in the 50's. At this point in time, it was not foreseeable that he would develop a classic that would mark the beginning of more than 70 years of perfume history with numerous fragrances. Every fragrance reflects its extraordinary life. So also the fragrance GRAVEL 46th STREET.

Wild berries

Fruity floral notes reminding of fruits or berries.

Precious woods

A select choice of special wood aromas. Lend a dignified dark aroma.

Jasmine

A fruity floral fragrance accord. The fragrance jasmine is very valuable and highly priced. It is particularly complex to produce. The blossoms must be picked by hand before sunrise in order to preserve the best possible essential oil content.

Cypriol (Nut Grass)

Is mainly cultivated in India. The oil is extracted from the shoots and roots of the fragrant grass and is a popular aroma. It has a pleasant woody-earthy scent and a long-lasting leathery fragrance. It is perceived as rather intense and strong.

Frankincense

The resin of the frankincense tree is extracted through a long and complex process. The resin has spicy, balsamic, and warm fragrance nuances. It has been used for thousands of years for healing and spiritual purposes.

Amber

In modern perfumery, ambergris is almost exclusively made from synthetic materials for animal welfare reasons. The scent of this fragrance is woody, dry.

Musk

As an ingredient in perfumes, the fragrance imparts an animalic - sweet scent. Nowadays it is almost exclusively produced synthetically.

Oud

The fragrance oud, or aoud, is extracted from the resin of the eaglewood tree, which grows in Northeast India and Southeast Asia. The scent is perceived as oriental, sensual, aromatic, and sexy, but also warm, woody and rough.
