Description

GRAVEL Hudson River NY is one of GRAVEL's later creations and refers to the pebbles that make each bottle unique and have always been added by hand. The idea for the name GRAVEL came about when Michael Knudsen was taking a walk along the Hudson River and took pebbles from the Hudson for the first time and added them to a perfume. It was on that day that the concept for GRAVEL was born. The idea behind it was to make perfume more interesting for men in the USA, as they had initially rejected perfume. This changed in the late 50s and early 60s thanks to GRAVEL. After the success of A Man's Cologne, which was the first men's perfume in the USA, he kept the concept of the stones and built the GRAVEL brand, as well as all unisex and women's perfumes, around the ingredient gravel.
This initially fresh, floral fragrance unfolds its full aromas after a short time of wear and develops a woody, spicy note, which is rounded off by a subtle vanilla note.
GRAVEL New York 1957 is only available in selected boutiques.
