Description

GRAVEL Across the Ocean New York 1957 is the second perfume designed by Michael B. Knudsen for GRAVEL. Passion for craftsmanship and the finest raw materials form the foundation for an unforgettable perfume. Since then, and to this day, every GRAVEL bottle has been filled by hand.
An intense and complex fragrance that begins fresh and floral, then develops into soft woody notes on the skin. Rose, Gaia wood, musk, and a touch of oud combine in unexpected ways. This fragrance transports the wearer to the luxurious ocean liners that once plied the Old World between Europe and the USA, and on which Michael Knudsen once arrived in America.
The gravel in each bottle is that “special something” that gives the fragrance a warm color note during the maturation process and rounds off the perfume.
GRAVEL New York 1957 is only available in selected boutiques.

Perfume Notes GRAVEL ACROSS THE OCEAN

Bergamotte

Extracted from the peel of the unripe bergamot fruit by cold pressing, bergamot essential oil is characterized by a fresh, tangy, tart, and fruity scent.

Lemon

This fragrance can be produced by pressing lime peels or distilling the fruit. Pressed lime oil is primarily used in perfumes. It is used to add freshness to fragrance compositions, especially in the top notes.

Cashmere Wood

The scent of Kashmir wood, or Cashmeran, is multi-layered and complex. It possesses intense musk and woody nuances and is characterized by a rich, spicy, balsamic fragrance.

Rose

Rose fragrance is derived from the petals. The essential rose oil extracted from them, as well as the rose absolute made from the buds, are among the most luxurious fragrances in the world. The rose petals, the raw material for the essential oil, are hand-picked. Roses are one of the oldest fragrances in perfumery.

Oud

The fragrance oud, or aoud, is extracted from the resin of the agarwood tree, which grows in northeast India and Southeast Asia. The scent is perceived as oriental, sensual, aromatic, and sexy, but also warm, woody, and rough.

Tonka bean

The fragrance is extracted from the tonka bean. It has a sweet, heavy note and is also used in cooking. The scent of tonka beans is warm, with light caramel notes, and is often used in balsamic, masculine fragrances.

Guaiac wood - Gaiac

The essential oil is extracted from the resin-rich wood of the guaiac tree (also called pockwood or French wood). Guaiac wood oil has a balsamic, woody scent with earthy, smoky notes.

Vanilla

The vanilla pods are harvested and fermented. The familiar brown sticks then develop the characteristic vanillin. This sweet, warm, spicy aroma is one of the most popular fragrances in perfumes.

Musk

As a component of perfumes, it imparts a sweet, animalistic scent. Today, it is produced almost exclusively synthetically.
